This is a very good recipe but I was searching for something different. My sister-in-law's mother was czheck and would send baklava to me every Christmas but I would swear it had apples in it.It was soo very good that my family would get worried she had not made it that year.lol I am still looking for a recipe like this that has the apples in it.I used extra nuts in this one because her's was chock full of them. Thanks for the recipe.

I have been making this for years (found on another website also) I use a mix of almonds and walnuts. Cut this before it bakes! If not, you'll have a big a mess. I make this for potlucks and functions due to its large size. This is my husbands favourite!!!

Wow, I would have to say this dessert was amazing!! I have never had this before or even heard of it. I was searching for a Greek dessert and found it, so I do not have a clue as to what it is to taste like. But I am so pleased that it turned out. It is so simple to make, I have never worked with phyllo dough before so I was very nervous to make this. It was perfect. I did melt the butter before putting it on the phyllo dough, it did not specify but I thought that it would be better if I did that.

Amazing baklava! Family and friends raved about it. I think that it tastes better with walnuts than almonds, also I had to use a lot more than just a cup of butter to butter all of the phyllo dough sheets!
