OUTSTANDING! I must say, that I've been eyeing Elswet's recipes for some time now, and I'm so glad that I picked this one to try first! Absolutely delicious! The seasonings were perfect, and the instructions were right on! I'm sorry my photo of the finished product with the parmesan cheese on top turned out blurry -- because it was awesome exactly as written! I got 5 star ratings from all of my kids, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the taste myself! (I'll tell you a secret -- I've tried every "copycat recipe" for Red Lobster's shrimp scampi that I could find, and none have ever come as close to that perfect flavor as this one!) Thank you so much for sharing! This is a true keeper in my family! :) UPDATE! I cooked this one for my sister and all of my family on Christmas Eve this year....Not only did it turn out FABULOUS AGAIN! But it also inspired my older sister (who rarely EVER cooks) to want to try and cook more recipes from Zaar! KUDOS, Elswet and KychynWych! You have inspired my older sister to WANT to cook --- and make this wonderful recipe again for the man in her life! Thanks again...:) Stacy :)

This was just ok. I've had a lot of shrimp scampi in my life and don't see how this was rated so high and considered "outstanding". It wasn't bad, don't get me wrong, but it lacked flavor. I don't see how broiling it for 2 minutes made any difference. I tossed it with angel hair and added a ton of parmesan cheese for more flavor. My 2 year old son really liked it though!

I was actually making Shrimp Scampi and saw your comments on it. I followed that one for the most part but put the pasta in a dish and put the cooked shrimp over it and broiled it as you recommended. I'm glad you posted your version because I tend to agree with yours and would like to try it. I don't see the need for the margarine though, omitted it.

The shrimp was very good on this but we did not care too much for the sauce. I guess the wine I used was not a great one because it just made the sauce taste funny. I probably won't make this again.

This is a great recipe, and I used chicken and the red pepper flakes this time, and served with your Jasmine Rice. Lots of flavors that went so well together! It is something I will be making again for company and I am looking foward to the shrimp version. Thank you :o)
